Terrane 1.0 Released

2026-10-30

Terrane, a listening instrument that makes sound from the place you are in, is now on the App Store.

Terrane is now available on the App Store. It listens through your iPhone microphone and plays the room around you back to your headphones, transformed.

Modes

Granular: the last twenty seconds played back as fragments, across three scenes: Trace, Drift and Suspension.
Field: the room, heightened. Sweep a band of frequencies forward, add space, or switch to Neutral for a clean field recording.
Harmonic: pitches pulled out of the room become a slow soundbed in the scale you choose.

Hold incoming sound, add motion around your head, record 24-bit WAV takes, or use your Apple Watch as a remote microphone.

Private by design

Sound is processed on your iPhone. Nothing is saved unless you record, and there's no account, tracking or ads. Headphones required.
