Most photo apps want to do the work for you. Bitrot hands you the tools.

It’s a real editor — layers, blend modes, masks, undo/redo — wrapped around a library of analog and digital effects most apps don’t touch: Floyd–Steinberg dithering, datamosh, halftone, CRT and VHS artifacts, risograph, halation, scan lines, Game Boy, warp and liquify. Stack them like layers. Mask them to the subject or the background. Grade with film-style presets. Add text in dozens of fonts, or build a collage from scratch.

Everything runs on your device, at full resolution. There’s no AI, no cloud, no account, and no upload — your photos never leave your phone. The complete editor is free forever, with no watermark and unlimited exports. If you want to support development, the optional Supporter tier adds iCloud sync, an experimental “Lab” of new effects, and a say in what gets built next.

Made by hand, for people who like to get tactile with their photo editing.
