These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of the Bitrot mobile application (the “App”) provided by Aux Ltd (“Aux”, “we”, “us”). By downloading or using the App, you agree to these Terms.

This document is a plain-language template describing how the App works today. It is provided for your convenience and does not constitute legal advice. Please have it reviewed by a qualified professional before publishing.

1. The app licence (Apple Standard EULA)

Your licence to use the App is governed by Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement (Standard EULA), available at apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula.

These Terms supplement, and do not replace, the Apple Standard EULA. In the event of a conflict regarding the app licence itself, the Apple Standard EULA controls.

2. No accounts

Bitrot does not require an account. You are responsible for your device and for the content you create with the App.

3. Your content

You retain all rights to the images and projects you create with the App. All editing happens on your device. We do not claim any ownership of your content, and we do not access, upload, or store it (see our Privacy Policy).

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the App to create or distribute content that is unlawful, infringing, or that violates the rights of others, and not to misuse, reverse engineer, or attempt to disrupt the App except to the extent permitted by law.

5. Supporter subscriptions & purchases

Bitrot is free to use. Optional paid tiers are available:

  • Supporter — an auto-renewable subscription offered monthly or yearly.
  • Lifetime — a one-time, non-consumable purchase.

The following apply to purchases:

  • Free features remain free for the life of the App on the App Store.
  • Paid purchases unlock supporter features such as iCloud sync and the Experimental Lab.
  • Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
  • You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your device’s Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions (or App Store account settings). Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
  • Prices are shown in the App and may vary by region and over time.
  • Except where required by law, purchases are non-refundable; refund requests are handled by Apple under Apple’s policies.

6. iCloud sync

If you enable iCloud sync (a supporter feature), your projects are stored in your own iCloud account and synced by Apple across your devices. Availability depends on your Apple ID, iCloud storage, and network connection. If your supporter entitlement ends, syncing stops and your locally stored projects remain available on your device.

7. Intellectual property

The App, its design, code, and branding are owned by Aux Ltd and protected by applicable laws. Bundled open-source fonts are licensed under their respective licences (including the SIL Open Font License). System fonts are provided by the operating system.

8. Disclaimers

The App is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will meet your requirements. Always keep backups of important images.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Aux Ltd will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, arising out of or relating to your use of the App. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

10. Changes to the app and terms

We may update the App and these Terms from time to time. Material changes to these Terms will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles, and subject to any mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence.
